It was David’s birthday on Monday!
To celebrate the day, he wanted to visit a nature reserve to test out his new telephoto lens. So we got up early on a bright August morning and headed up the motorway to RSPB Leighton Moss, Carnforth.
We spent a leisurely three and a half hours walking the board walks, noseying in the hides and watching the garden birds from the feeders. We spied a great white egret and black tailed godwits. Here’s some of the pictures I took using David’s old camera.

What’s your favourite nature reserve?

Hope David enjoyed his birthday. I like your photo of the fly and the dragonfly best. I wonder what conversation they would be having. …

David said he enjoyed his birthday 🙂 He’s poorly at the moment with pneumonia 😦 I think the dragonfly was probably sizing up the fly for lunch 🙂 xx
